re.veil found its genesis within the conceptualisation of an idealistic world in which one's childhood thoughts, identities and otherness are embraced & expressed.
some of us–particularly those who are members of marginalised groups–have found ourselves having to censor crucial parts of our identities throughout our childhoods. while some of us have been privileged enough to see this turn around throughout our adolescent years or adulthoods, others may not have had that privilege just yet.

this project is very dear to me. i, myself, sought comfort in online spaces and found myself immersed in communities that housed individuals who were like me. these spaces offered me tools that encouraged self-expression and that, ultimately, helped me craft my AFK world.
humans are an intrinsically tribal species. online spaces hold the power and capacity to bring people together and to expose individuals to the representation they direly need to see.
